I bought these shorts to wear to the chiropractor when I have a dress on. It weirds them out when you wear a dress and they put a towel on your legs for modesty. I figured I'd save them the trouble and buy some bike shorts. These are SO fabulous! I read the measurements and ordered accordingly. I'm a chubby 16-18 right now, and the XXL fit me nicely without feeling like tight compression shorts. They are just kind of there. Smooth, soft, they don't feel like they're slipping down, they don't create a muffin top - just there. And they felt so good, I left them on ALL DAY under my dress. I even went to Amazon and found another similar pair in white to wear under light dresses. It was like wearing shorts all day. Wonderful.As an added note, because they don't fit tight, expect there to be some air at the hem above your knee. They are loose there. I like it, because I don't need anything squeezing my leg -but some reviewers didn't like it. Just about a 1" gap - not much, but a gap all the same. Would catch air on your bike, maybe? I don't plan to use these for normal wear - I don't want to be indecent - but there is a pocket on the left leg. Because the shorts don't fit tightly - you probably wouldn't put much (a phone) in there... but kleenex would be handy there!
